Detailed Itinerary

Full Day: Dolphin Watching & Snorkeling in Wasini Island

The 0700-hour day tour starts with an early morning pick-up from your hotel. We drive southwards to the historical fishing village of Shimoni, where, along the way, you can admire the coastal landscape with views of coconut palm and mango tree plantations. At Shimoni, embark on the traditional Arabic-style motorized dhow starting with a comfortable cruise through the Wasini Island channel as you sail towards Kisite Island.

Kisite Marine Park is home to a resident school of dolphins, and sightings usually occur on average 6 days out of 7. The crew onboard will be on the lookout to try and spot these dolphins for you.

Arriving at the first snorkeling site, snorkel with qualified guides who will help you swim along the reef, whether you are a beginner or an experienced snorkeler. These magical waters will mesmerize you with likely sights of turtles, colorful corals, and exotic fish. Scuba Diving can be arranged at an extra cost. If it is your first time scuba diving, you may want to try a fun dive, while certified divers can explore the reef with the dive guides.

After snorkeling, proceed to Wasini Island Private Restaurant for lunch. Spoil yourself with sumptuous seafood, fresh crab, fillet fish, or delicious grilled chicken or vegetarian, all prepared Swahili style with a touch of finesse.

After enjoying lunch while you reflect on your magical day at Kisite and Wasini Island, board the dhow back to Shimoni for your drive to Mombasa, which completes the Wasini Island Day tour. This package can also include the Wasini coral garden boardwalk and Shimoni slave cave tour, depending on time and client needs.
